Because pearls are natural products, even pearls of the highest quality (AAA) can have flaws that are visible to the naked eye. Only one percent of the entire pearl crop is classified as AAA quality, which underlines their exceptional rarity and quality. AA and A pearls can have more visible flaws, but these do not detract from their beauty.
